DiscOrder of No Quarter- I was the owner and administrator of the largest and most active Shovel Knight Discord server. Under my leadership, our fan community grew from a mere 200 members to over 2,000. The server has received an official endorsement from the developers of the game, which can be found here.
Due to my success with creating a welcoming environment, cultivating a large community, and running fun server events, I was personally invited to help set up Yacht Club Games' official Discord server, where I am currently a volunteer administrator. That server can be found here. In this server, every fan community I've ever started is directly linked and endorsed in a dedicated "fan communities" page.
I was the owner of the server from 2017 to 2023. After careful consideration, I voluntarily decided to pass the server on to a successor so that I could have more time to pursue other projects. Since passing the server to its new owner, Myles "Rockm" Rockland, DiscOrder's legacy of fostering a welcoming and fun environment for Shovel Knight fans as continued to this day.
Pixels 4 Peace (2018)- Pixels 4 Peace was an online speedrunning marathon where pros would show off their skill at video games, and viewers would donate money to charity. When I worked on the project, donated funds went to the Trevor Project. We raised over $300 for charity the first time the marathon occurred. I was the technical director, meaning I ran the marathon's livestream on Twitch using OBS. I also helped organize the charity event, which took months of work prior. I was also an administrator for the marathon's public Discord server, where discussion of the event both before, during, and after occurred. The original livestream is no longer available, but the project's website can be viewed here: https://pixelsforpeace.weebly.com/
Mekacity- I was also the owner and administrator of Mekacity, which is the largest and most active Cyber Shadow Discord server. The server isn’t just a place to discuss the game, however. The developer of the game, Aarne “Mekaskull” Hunziker, joined the server early on and used it to gain insightful feedback from users and has patched the game numerous times based on player feedback from the server. We also had an exclusive live streamed Q&A event where the composer for Cyber Shadow, Enrique “Pentadrangle” Martin, showed off how he created for the music for the game and discussed his creative process. While this event was not recorded, it was advertised by YCG’s Twitter account here.
Tenebrous Isle- Similar to Mekacity, I created this server for fans of the newly announced game, Mina the Hollower, to come together to speculate and discuss this wonderful new indie Kickstarter project. Like DiscOrder and Mekacity, this fan community was endorsed by Yacht Club Games, and is now owned by Myles "Rockm" Rockland.
